STOP DRINKING ALCOHOL IT IS SATANIC POISON
Drinking of wine that contains any percentage of alcohol, beer of any type, hard drugs/substance and other intoxicating beverages are roundly condemned in the Bible. See some of the scriptures that frown about drinking strong wine: Gen.9:20-29; 19:30-38; Lev. 10:9-11; Num. 6:1-3; Deut.21:20;29:5-6; Judges 13:4,7,14; Prov.20:1;23:29-35; 31:3-7; Isa. 5: 11,22 etc.
The very first place wine is cited in the Bible is Genesis 6: 21-25;it is connected with drunkenness, sin, shame and curse. Also in Proverbs 23:29-35, the author of this book of "wisdom" raised some fundamental questions that pertain the terrible consequences of drinking alcohol. "Who hath woe? Who hath sorrow? Who hath wounds without cause? Who hath redness of eyes?" The writer of this book supplied convincing answers to these thought provoking questions. " They that tarry long at long at wine; they that go to seek mixt wine". He therefore advised his readers not to " look...upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Thine eye shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse thines. Yea, thou shall be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast...". Here and elsewhere in the scriptures, the Bible warns about the demonic and devastative effects of alcohol.
But why is it that the Bible so frowns about drinking alcohol and warns believers to stay clear of it? The devastating effects of strong wine are enormous and some of them can be seen in Proverbs 21:1;23:29-35; 31:4-7'>4-7. Many people do unimaginable things under the influence of alcohol. Because alcohol is made of chemical and fermented grapes, it affects the body of whosoever that takes it and causes its victim to become disoriented, loosing control of himself and his sense of reasoning. It morally weakened the leaders that indulge in it and lead them to comprise and perverse justice ( Prov.31:4-7'>4-7).
To whoever that takes it also, it dulls the senses and capacity to think straight thereby reducing its victim responsiveness to himself, family, and society. It makes its victim insensitive, beholding strange women and even speaking perverse things (Prov. 23: 29-35).
At the national and global levels, the drinking of alcohol is associated with greater percentage of number of autos crash recorded on the roads annually. Most of the crimes (including murders ) committed worldwide is also linked with alcoholism. It is also a major factor that is causing sexual immortality, unwanted pregnancy out of wedlock and high divorce rate.
The above negative effects and many others that time and space will not permit us to state here are the reasons why God forbids the kings and priests from drinking wine in the Old Testament (see Levt. 10: 8-11; Num.6:1-3; Prov.31:3-7). The implication of this to the New Testament believers is that they are forbidden from taking strong wine because Christ had made them kings and priests unto God ( 1Pet. 2:9; Rev.1:5-6). They are regarded as kings and priests who rule in God's spiritual kingdom. These two privileged positions make it imperative for believers not to drink alcohol, entertain people with it, sell or produce it. Total abstinence from alcohol is the only guarantee avoidance of the evils associated with drinking of strong wine. You are therefore advised to stay away from it.
